1. What Is The Etiquette Of Wedding Favors?

Wedding favors are really a thank-you to the guest for attending the occasion. There is no set etiquette on the giving of wedding favors although the tradition dates to the 16th century. Some clever ideas include bottles of olive oil for a wine country wedding, or bottles of limoncello at an Italian themed wedding. The possibilities are endless. At my own wedding in San Francisco 22 years ago, we gave out personalized Hershey Bars as my mother was from Philly.

2. Should Every Single Attendee Receive A Favor, Or Should It Be One Per Couple?

Party favors can be added to the table decor and placed at every place setting. The bride will have enough on her plate to be passing out favors. This way, every guest will have a lasting memory without any added stress.

3. Should Those In The Wedding Party Receive A Favor?

Bridal party attendants are wedding guests so they should be included. In addition, members of the wedding party should be given special gifts as a thank you for their assistance with the wedding details.

4. What Should A Couple Do If They Have A Tight Budget For Favors?

Wedding favors are small gifts, a lovely gesture but not required or expected by guests.

5. What Should A Couple Do With Extra Favors?

Typically, a bride and groom will know how many people are attending the reception. If there are extra gifts, they can keep them for their one-year anniversary or give them to any of the staff that assisted with their special day (wedding planner, caterer, bartender, etc.).
