Key Takeaways
- Taylor Swift posed with all of her albums to announce she officially owns them, holding her babies with silver manicured hands.
- The glittery nail art is easy to replicate; you just need the perfect silver polish to make it happen.
I’ve read enough Sally Rooney to understand Marxism at least a little bit, and know the idea of “ownership” is complicated at best. And yet, no one can deny how great it is to hear that Taylor Swift finally owns the rights to all of her music. It’s a big deal, and it’s been a long time coming.
On Friday, May 30, after a week of major Swiftie speculation (the artist didn’t show up at the American Music Awards, even though so many thought that she’d be announcing her re-recorded Reputation album there), Swift announced that all of her albums are officially hers for the first time in her life.
She made the big announcement with a handwritten letter posted to her website, which she wrote with a beautifully manicured hand.
Taylor Swift’s Silver Manicure
Though her fans sure love sparkles, the 35-year-old hasn’t had an official glitter-colored album era yet. That makes it the perfect look to kick off this new time of contentment. While the background of her website, where the letter lives, is covered in gold glitter, her nails take on a more silver-y hue.
It’s soft but certainly sparkling, with what appear to be micro glitter pigments worked into the polish. It reminds me of Manucurist’s Disco shade (an opaque, glittery silver that the brand says is a “must-have to go dancing”). Swift has also been an OPI fan in the past, if you want to go with the iconic brand’s metallic Happy Anniversary! shade.

Taylor Swift’s Red Lipstick
To make her big announcement, Swift also swiped on some red lipstick. The papers haven’t been signed, but the red lip classic look is another thing she basically owns.

“You belong with me,” wrote Swift in an Instagram post pointing fans to her letter. I know she meant the albums, but she also means a tube of Pat McGrath Labs lipstick. And all the glitter confetti and nail polish in the world.
